Yarrow Tincture
Yarrow Tincture
Achillea millefolium
ABOUT:
Often considered to be “first aid in a bottle,” yarrow was commonly used to stop bleeding. In ancient Roman times, yarrow was said to be used to quickly stop bleeding in spear wounds while soldiers were engaged in war.
Yarrow can help to either start bleeding or stop bleeding. When used externally, it can promote wound healing and stop bleeding. Yarrow can kill gram-positive bacteria like Staph.aureus, Bacillus subtillis, Mycobacterium smegmatis, Escherichia coli, Shigella sonnei, and Shigella flexneri. When taken internally, yarrow can be used to encourage the start of a period that is late (that is not delayed due to pregnancy.) Internally, it can help promote healthy blood circulation.
Yarrow is a bitter herb by nature, which can promote healthy digestion when taken half an hour before meals.
Yarrow can be used as an anti-inflammatory supplement to help with pain relief.
When swished in the mouth, yarrow helps with bacteria that can lead to gum disease and bad breath.
