Solar Block

Designed for both face and body use, Solar Block provides UV protection while also nourishing the skin with its wholesome ingredients. The main ingredient, zinc oxide, is a mineral that forms a gentle barrier on the skin, reflecting and diffusing harmful UV rays off the skin.

About the ingredients: Grass-fed and finished tallow adds a rich blend of vitamins, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and nutrients to fortify the skin's defense against sun damage. Tallow is also rich in vitamins A,D,E, and K. This combination offers a safe and environmentally friendly (coral reef safe!) shield against excessive sun exposure. The scent profile is incredibly delicious with herbal notes from lavender, rosemary, and calendula. Rosemary and lavender have been shown to naturally protect the skin from sun damage, while calendula aids in reducing any redness that can occur with prolonged sun exposure.

Although we haven't conducted official SPF testing on our balm, we estimate its sun protection factor to be around 30. This formula has zero white residue and is 100% essential oil free! This balm is gentle and safe for those with sensitive skin, including babies. This balm contains a mineral sunscreen ingredient, zinc, to protect the color of the product.

Solar Block is great for those on the go this spring and summer. It is easy to throw in a makeup bag, purse, diaper bag, travel bag or beach bag.

How to use:

• For optimal results, apply a small amount of the balm with dry hands to skin before sun exposure

• Reapply this balm every hour, and especially if you are planning on going swimming or sweating in the sun.

• Like all tallow products, you only need a pea sized amount for your entire face. If you apply more than this amount, it might feel heavy on your skin. Use larger amounts of the balm to cover the rest of your body.

How to store:

• This product is packaged in a 2 oz metal tin with a twist off lid. Please remember to store the balm in a cool and shaded area, as it may dissolve when exposed to high temperatures.

• At room temperature, this product's shelf life is around 6-8 months. If you keep it in the fridge, the shelf life extends to 12-14 months.
